Fixed Fee Divorce

Our divorce solicitor can take you through the divorce process of legally ending your marriage, guiding you through all parts of the divorce and advising you on how to proceed and, most importantly, explaining the process step by step 

The fees do not include all court fees which are payable.  At present the court fee, for a divorce, is £612.

Petitioner          £750.00 plus VAT and Court fees

Respondent      £500.00 plus VAT and Court fees

These fees do not include dealing with children or financial issues, or Court Fees which are payable.
We will be happy to provide you with an estimate of costs upon request.

We are able to advise or provide alternatives to a divorce such as Judicial Separation, not common but used often where parties have a religious objection to divorce.  However, it does provide the court, should that be necessary, with jurisdiction to deal with financial issues arising out of the separation.

Injunctions and Domestic Violence

We can help you with all issues of domestic abuse, including domestic violence. This can include controlling behaviour, and emotional abuse. We can help you in obtaining protection under the Family Law Act for:

Non-Molestation Order

This covers many types of behaviour such as violence and threats, stalking, nuisance calls, social media harassment of whatever nature, physical and verbal threats, as well as violence.

Such Orders can be obtained against any person associated with you, namely:

• A spouse or cohabitee including a civil partner.
• Someone living in the same household as you.
• Someone with whom you have had an intimate relationship whether or not you have a child together.
• Somebody to whom you are engaged either to be married or into a civil partnership.
• Relatives.

Occupation Orders

This is an Order that governs the occupation of your home, whether you wish to exclude a partner/relative or manage the use of the property.

Disputes Regarding Arrangements for Children

We can advise with regards to your parental responsibility for your children and the meaning of such responsibility.  

You may wish to enter into a “Written Agreement” upon a separation to divide the care of your children fairly between parents and we can advise upon a “Parental Responsibility Agreement” in those circumstances.

We can advise you on obtaining a Child Arrangements Order or a Supervision Order, through the courts.

A court can order one of four main Orders:

• A Child Arrangement Order for a child to live with you.
• A Child Arrangement Order for your child to spend time with you.
• A Specific Issue Order, being an Order allowing for a particular arrangement to be made, such as an Order as to which school a child attends or whether a holiday is suitable.  
• A Prohibitive Steps Order – this is an Order that a court can make to prevent something happening to your child – this could be as simple as preventing the other party taking a child abroad or a more complex issue with regards to his/her education.

Pre-Nuptial Agreements

We can advise and assist with the drawing up of a contract between yourself and your prospective spouse, setting out the party’s assets which are to be shared should your marriage or civil partnership break down.

Financial Issues

Following divorce or separation, whether ending a marriage or civil partnership, or a long term cohabitation, there may be many issues of financial commitments between the couple. We can give you advice on ending the financial commitments and protecting your finances, and to divide the finances between the two of you fairly. We can firstly advise with regards to coming to an agreement, whether with the help of mediation or other non-court based options, or, if necessary, going through the court procedure to come to a fair division of your assets.
